Fazenda Fortaleza is a property of the Souza family, located in the south of Minas Gerais in the region of Mantiqueira de Minas at an altitude of approximately 1.280 m with 5 hectares of coffee plantation. Year by year there’s improvement on quality as a result of the family’s passion and dedication to the production.

"My husband’s grandfather was a pioneer in the coffee production in the region bringing seedlings from a near by town by bull cart load. With time he increased the production area and by the time he passed away in 1999 he left each son with a little piece of coffee plantation.

We always knew our coffees were good but only around 2015 we realized the high quality potential but still we didn’t have to whom to sell it.  Our coffee won the competition organized by APAS (Producer’s Association of Alto da Serra) scored at 91.7 points and since then our total production is focused on specialty coffee.

Currently we are certified by CMC (Certifica Minas Cafe) and we are very thankful to all our partners and buyers because just having good coffee without their support would not have allowed us to pursue our dream of having a better quality life. "
