Inexplicably complex with exotics aromas of wildflower honey, lychee, nectarines, magnolia blossoms and muscat grapes.

Eastern Beauty is made once a year in June-July when the tea leafhopper (a type of aphid) visits the gardens during summer rainy season. The leafhopper draws juices out of the tender tea leaves, initiating early withering and oxidation. Prior to harvest, this slow-crafted tea is withered on the plants for 1-2 days until the leaves display the correct range of colors, including hues of purple, red, brown, white & orange. This unique cultivation method renders vivid complexity and exotic floral sweetness with notes of wildflower honey, lychee, nectarines, magnolia blossoms, and Muscat grapes.

We encourage you to experiment with the quantity of tea leaves and the length of the steep time to find your desired brew strength. Varying the water temperature isn't recommended, as water that is too hot will over-extract the bitter components of tea, while water that is too cool might not fully draw out the aromas and flavors of tea.
