This is a new favorite of ours! This recent spring harvest of the rare Zi Juan (purple beauty) cultivar has fresh aromas of white grape skin and wild rose and lingering hints of violet.

Yunnan Purple Beauty is a black tea made from a rare purple leaf tea cultivar called Zi Juan. Zi Juan produces beautiful reddish-purple leaves that are high in anthocyanins, a family of red and blue antioxidants found in fruits like blueberries, blackcurrants, Concord grapes, and bilberries. In recent years, Zi Juan has become a popular tea in China as a unique source for these healthful pigments.

Temperature Water: 195 F - 91 C

Steep Time: 4 minutes

We encourage you to experiment with the quantity of tea leaves and the length of the steep time to find your desired brew strength. Varying the water temperature isn't recommended, as water that is too hot will over-extract the bitter components of tea, while water that is too cool might not fully draw out the aromas and flavors of tea.
